I5-[DiaSpace] - Overview

Flexible Dialogue Control for Intuitive Spatial Communication

In the project I5-[DiaSpace], we investigate the mechanisms of natural and effective situated dialogic interaction in spatial settings at all levels of linguistic, contextual and conceptual description.

Situated spatial dialogue requires the dynamic negotiation of spatial context, conceptual models, discourse strategies and robust language processing. We have developed a state-of-the-art dialogue system architecture and framework and we have implemented applications that appropriately reflect the particular challenges of situated spatial interaction.

We are iteratively improving the capabilities of our dialogue systems and applying them to ever more challenging settings. Our dialogue systems are used in different projects of the SFB/TR 8 for conducting empirical studies about different space-related tasks.
