Models & Software

Computational / Conceptual models of human cognition; assistance tools

LTM-C and its ACT-R interfaces
LTM-C is a long-term memory component developed and implemented (in LISP) for our architecture Casimir. Two interfaces, LTM-DM and LTM-Buffer, for integrating LTM-C into ACT-R as well as several ACT-R models using the interfaces are also available.
The Competitive Shunting Model of Reference Frame Selection
Matlab implementation of the competitive shunting model including output for visualization of intermediate stages of the simulation.
Spanreform: Reasoning about Cardinal Directions
Realizes spatio-analogical representation structures for processing information about cardinal directions between entities. Reasoning preferences observed in humans arise from the basic assumptions underlying model design.
Evaluating Cognitive Architectures: Turing Completeness of ACT-R
Several ACT-R models showing that ACT-R is computationally very powerful. This raises questions regarding ACT-R's explanatory power and, more generally, highlights important aspects of evaluating cognitive architectures.
Complex Mental Image Construction
Computational model of the representations and processes involved when constructing multi-part mental images. Employs a spatial and a visual representation as well as an attention window, which corresponds to eye movements during imagery tasks.
